# Build: "FIRN — a hero for a hyperspectral snow lab" — a grainy flight through the mountains that breaks into planes under the pointer
## 0. Brief
Firn (fictional) flies a hyperspectral camera over the world's high ranges and measures snow grain, water and melt. The hero is one full screen: a real-time flight down a mountain valley toward an iridescent halo, drawn as grains of light on warm graphite; only lit areas turn to grain, the darks stay clean. The pointer leaves a trail where the picture breaks into vertical planes that slip up or down, magnify slightly like fluted glass and settle back on springs. A loader draws the reflectance spectrum of snow band by band (240 bands, 400–2500 nm); then the planes land from the centre outward while the grain fills in, and the page assembles in order. The layout mixes editorial and technical: a huge stacked wordmark FIRN down the right edge (cut by the same planes), small uppercase meta, a light uppercase headline, an instrument readout under the pointer and a countdown to the next pass. Every label breaks into three slipping slices on hover, like the planes behind it.The full prompt unlocks at launch.
